Important information for the admission of international applicants:

  • A certificate of completion of a minimum grade point average of %60 to apply for Bachelor of Science
  • A certificate of completion and bachelor’s degree of a minimum grade point average of %70 to apply for a Master of Science
  • A bachelor’s degree of a minimum grade point average of %70 and a Master’s degree of a minimum grade point average of %70 to apply for Phd

Note: Applicants can apply for admission to the university after completing the course and receiving a degree with their course transcripts. This admission is subject to receiving a degree or defending the dissertation before the end of the semester and enrollment. The admission will be canceled if the applicant does not present the degree or the defense minutes before the final registration.

Note: According to the laws and regulation of Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) admission is only possible for non-Iranian students.

  1. Required documents for admission:

  • Applicants must upload the required documents according to what is stated in the admission system at admission.aut.ac.ir

    within the specified timeframe.
    • Applicants’ files are reviewed by the university admission committee and the result is announced in the system. If the response is positive, an admission letter will be issued.
    • After receiving admission, applicants must register in the system at saorg.ir, obtain a tracking code, and send it to the International Students Affairs request system. The qualification approval in the saorg.ir system takes about 4 to 6 weeks. After receiving the qualification approval, the visa application will be processed by the consular office of the International Students Affairs Management, which takes about 2 to 4 weeks.
    • After receiving admission, applicants must participate in the Persian language placement test online at campus.aut.ac.ir/exam.
    • After placement, applicants must register for Persian language courses and successfully complete them before the start of the academic year.
    • Persian language courses are held in 4 levels. The total tuition fee for the course is 550 Euros. If the applicant does not need to take the full course based on the placement test, the tuition fee will be reduced accordingly.
    • Registration for each academic semester will be carried out by the student after the issuance of the student number and payment of tuition, in coordination with the Deputy of Education or Graduate Studies of the relevant faculty.

International Affairs office, 4th floor, Farabi building, No. 350, Hafez Ave, Valiasr Square, Tehran, Iran  

Please note that the medium of Instruction for all courses is Persian, so that all students should have a good command of Persian Language for studying in the Amirkabir University of Technology. Otherwise they should attend some Persian Language classes held in International Center for Persian Studies for 8 months at least.
